William Richard Rice Obituary
William (Bill) R Rice of Issaquah, WA passed away Friday, August 31, 2012. He was 83 years old. He was born on January 1, 1929 in Snoqualmie Falls, Washington the son of Andrew and Agnes Rice. He was raised in the Snoqualmie Valley and graduated from Mt Si High School. He was drafted into the Army at the age of 19 during the Korean War. Bill was stationed in Greenland and Panama Canal during his enlistment. His brother James preceded him in death.

Bill married Nancy Sumner in Fall City on September 4, 1961. Their children are Mary Baunsgard (David) of Parker, CO, Teresa Henrikson (Eric) of Redmond, WA, Joan Rice (Gregory Dickman) of Ferndale, WA, Kenneth Rice (Jalee) of McKinney, TX and life long host father to Raffaella Hegi-Croce (Christophe) of Switzerland. He was the proud grandfather to eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He worked for the Boeing Company for forty three years as a machinist. He worked on a wide variety of projects including the Minuteman, B-52, and the first 747. He lived in the Snoqualmie Valley for over 75 years and always considered the Valley his home. Bill and Nancy moved to Providence Point in January 2008.

Spending time with his family and lending a helping hand was always his priority. He took great joy in assisting his friends and family with their projects. He was an exceptional handy man and could fix anything from automobiles, appliances to children's toys. He designed and helped construct the family home in the Snoqualmie Valley.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 6 at 2:00 pm with military honors at Cedar Lawns Cemetery located at 7200 180th Ave NE, Redmond, WA 98052. Followed by a celebration and reception at the Town Hall, (formerly Bakes Place, in Providence Point) 4135 Providence Point Drive S.E. Issaquah, WA 98029 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.
