Mr. Hutchins had worked at the former Hartnett Tannery in Ayer, Sampson Cordage and President's Suspender Company both in Shirley. A master machinist, he later worked for over 25 years as a millwright at Shanklin Packaging Company in Ayer, retiring in 2009. He was also a licensed stele erector and had participated in the construction of the Shanklin Company manufacturing facility. Red was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and kayaking. He was a member of the Templeton Fish and Game Club. He was an accomplished wood carver and a professional archer. |
