George Partridge was the first of the family in America. He may have come from the County of Kent in England. The first mention of his name upon the records of Plymouth Colony was in that year when he was granted 5 acres of land at Powder Point. He was one of the most respectable yeomanry of the Colony. In 1643 he was able to bear arms. In 1646 he was constable. He was one of the original purchasers of Middleborough. His will was dated 26 Jun 1682. An inventory of his estate was taken 10 Oct 1695, so his death was between these two.
