Shared note | References for the Lineage of the Parsons family came from a family record owned by Mrs. Blanch Hall Sayer and from "A Biographical Record of Chemung County" of William Henry Parsons whose father, Uriah Parsons, was the son of Daniel Parsons. Daniel Parsons made application for pension, Sept. 4, 1832 at which time he was residing at Veteran, N.Y. His claim was allowed for services as follows: Private in Col. Meigs Regiment of Conn. - 1 month, 1778 Private in Capt. Charles Co., Col. Waterbury's Regiment, of Conn. troops From 1778 to 1783, he belonged to Capt John Gray's Militia Co. of Reading, Conn. In col. Denison's Regt. was often called out. Serving at various times uder Capt. Godfreys, Wheeler, Thomas, Nash, Barton. He was also engaged in the burning of Norwalk. |
