Shared note

He was associated with the mining of barytes when he lived in the South and he traveled in the interests of the Williams Products Co. of New York City. He was associated for many years with the Ryder Hardware Store in Boonville, Oneida, New York. Reforestation was of particular interest to him and he was one of the first to buy and reforest barren lands east of the Black River. Over the years he built one camp after another at Brantingham Lake, which to him were both a hobby and a business, for they proved to be popular with vacationists who came to know him and appreciate his knowledge of the woods. One of his latest hobbies was the restoration of antique chairs and the collection he made was a source of pride and satisfaction tohimself and his family.
