Note: He was a 1962 graduate of Cape Vincent High School. In high school he was an excellent athlete playing Baseball, Football and Basketball. On July 20, 1963 he married Kathy Rienbeck at the Cape Vincent United Methodist Church, he was married to Kathy for 35 years. He worked for the New York State Department of Transportation for 32 years and retired on November 22, 2000. Larry was a very hard worker and in addition to his career with the DOT he often held several side jobs repairing local residents boats, cars or anything with a motor. It was never too late to drop off a car at the L&K Exxon which he owned along with his wife Kathy for several years. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with some of his greatest memories coming from the deer hunting trips to southern tier with some of his closest friends, father and son. In this group was probably one of the most influential people in Larry's life Vic Sr. (Swenson). He also spent many years playing fast pitch softball representing the Cape Inn where they won league championships as well as traveling to and winning several area tournaments. One of the biggest tournaments in this area is fondly named after his late brother William.
