Shared note | A memorial service was held on February 6 at Boynton Memorial Chapel in Boynton Beach, Florida. Mr. Sweredoski is survived by his widow, Winifred Sweredoski, two sons and daughter-in-laws, Douglas (Rosie), Delray Beach, Florida and Darrell (Carrie), Watertown, NY; four daughters and son-in-laws, Deanna (Robert) Froysell, Adams, NY, Delia (Stanley) Kimmett, Lenoir City, TN, Connie (Phillip) Muldovan, Watertown, NY, Sandy (Gene) Bolton, Watertown, NY; a sister, Sophie Morak, Martinsburg, NY. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by seven brothers, Stanley, John, Joesph, Thomas, Theodore, Walter, and Alfred. He was born in the Town of Martinsburg, NY May 30, 1926, son of Stephen and Anna Stronbowna Sweredoski. He served in the Navy in World War II. He saw combat service in the Pacific Theater and was discharged with Honors. He married Winifred Rowsam, December 26, 1943 in St. Peters Church, Lowville, NY. The couple owned a farm in Martinsburg, NY and also owned and operated multiple businesses in the Lowville and Watertown area. Mr. Sweredoski was a life-time member of the Lewis County VFW Post. He was an avid golfer and loved gardening. He was also a communicate of St. Mark Church, Boynton Beach, Florida. A graveside memorial service will be held in the spring at the family’s convenience in Lowville, NY. The family requests donations may be made to the Hospice of Jefferson County, Inc. in memory of Mitchell. |
