Death | May 3, 1988 (Age 32 years) Cause of death: Murder Note: Meredith was living in Nashville TN, playing in the Symphony orchestra and working in the Vanderbilt University library. An intruder broke into her apartment and in the struggle that followed, Meredith was shot twice in the head. She remained unconscious for 11 days. She had been packing in preparation for a move to Rochester NY. There she was to have been married in October. (Philip was completing his Masters in music.) Truly an unbelievable tragedy.
